December Presentation
Highlights of ETGS activities
during 2004 will be presented with a collage of photographs
provided by various members. We had one field trip this year to
the Fall Creek Falls State Park area. We will also summarize ETGS
support of this year&rsquos Earth Science Fair at the
University of Tennessee. If you have photos from any of these
events, please send them electronically to Mark Gardiner no later
than December 2. If you have other photos that might be of
interest to our geologist membership (from vacations, field
trips, conferences, etc.), please send those to Mark as well. He
will compile them into an informal presentation that will be one
of the highlights of the December meeting.
December Challenge
We encourage you to bring a
friend or co-worker who is not already active with ETGS. This is
a great opportunity to introduce folks to our organization and
help our professional membership grow. Dinner will be catered by Gondolier Italian Restaurant and will be provided in exchange for a small
donation of $3 to $5 per person to help cover expenses. As is
tradition at our December meeting, your family is welcome. Please
RSVP if you plan to attend, with the total number in your party.
The RSVP will allow us to order enough food for everyone. Send
your reply by email to Seaira Stephenson.
Election of Officers
The following ETGS officer positions are available for 2005.
Formal Positions up for Election at December Meeting
President: Presides over the meetings and provides overall leadership.
Vice President: Assists with meeting arrangements and coordinating speakers. January and February speakers have been tentatively lined up.
Secretary/Treasurer: Maintains financial information and accounts, documents meeting minutes, and maintains the membership directory.
Other Positions Available for Volunteers
Newsletter Editor: Produces the News Klippe from submissions from other members. We could sure use some assistance here. Other officers will assist with this role.
Webmaster: Maintains the website, including meeting notices and field trip information.
Field Trip Coordinator: Plans and coordinates field trips.
Executive Committee: In addition to officers, should consist of three at-large members.
Membership Committee: One or two positions available.

Sunchase Apartments are
located at 740 North Cedar Bluff Road. From I-40 (in West
Knoxville) take the Cedar Bluff exit and drive north
approximately one mile. Sunchase is on the right after passing
Fox Lonas Road. Please use the second entrance (at the Club
House).
